About Us
Confidence Martial Arts Academy offers group and private lessons in Kyokushin Karate and traditional Filipino Martial Arts (FMA). The Academy is committed to providing a safe environment for training and competition.
Regardless of the system thought, Kyokushin Karate or FMA, Confidence Academy hosts an open and friendly environment for you to learn self-defense, discipline and improve your personal health, strength and fitness level. You will also have the opportunity to meet new people that enjoy practicing martial arts.
So why is Confidence Martial Arts Academy teaching its students two different self-defense systems? Kyokushin Karate and FMA are in reality complementary disciplines.
Kyokushin Karate is an empty-hand full-contact martial art that combines traditional and contemporary training methods into a simple and very effective self-defense system suitable for men, women and children of all ages. It is rooted in a philosophy of self-improvement, discipline and hard training.
Filipino Martial Arts, also known as Arnis, Kali and Eskrima is well known for its combative practicality, emphasis on multi-range weapons training and real-life applications. FMA incorporates elements from both Western and Eastern martial arts that are proven to be efficient, functional and effective in a self-defense situation.
Above all, Confidence Martial Arts Academy believes that it is best to learn the art to win a fight without fighting, and, if things escalate, the ability to defend yourself.
Confidence Martial Arts Academy is a member of IKOKU — International Kyokushin Organization Kyokushinkaikan Union with headquarters in Japan. Several Kyokushin dojos in Canada are affiliated to this organization.
